POCKET CARDS

Starting hands in poker are called pocket cards and these cards should decide if you play a hand or fold and forget. in poker you should play pocket cards differently when you are indifferent position. Here I will tell you how to go in each position with each pocket card. if you stick to this guide you will win more often than lose but if you lose a hand don't let it get to you anything that has happened in poker is poker history move on and don't look back or you could face titling

The Best Cards

Ace-Ace
King-King
Ace-King suited
Queen-Queen
Jack-Jack

When dealt these cards you should do 2 things first of all say thanks to the poker gods for blessing you with a great hand. then raise or reraise. no matter what position your in.

Strong pocket cards

AQ, AJ, A10 (all suited)
AK (off suit or unsuited)
KQ suited
Pair of 10's
KJ, QJ, J10 all suited
AQ, AJ
Pair of 9's
KQ
K10 suited, Q10 suited

These cards are strong because they are either classed as good pocket pairs or they are high cards with a good chance of hitting a flush or a straight. When being dealt these cards in middle or late position you should be looking to raise if nobody has raised before you if they have just call and see the flop. If in early position call and see what the others do if there is a raise look at your chip stack if you haven't got many chips and have a pair go all in. if not fold or call.

Average Pocket Cards
Pair of 8's
Jack-9, 10-9 both suited
Pair of 7's
9-8, 8-7 both suited

Pair of 6’s

Pair of 5’s
Ace and any other suited card
KJ, QJ, J10

Don't raise with these cards as you want to see the flop as cheaply as possible as these are not the best cards but can turn into monster hands. Another good reason to call is you don't want to get the reputation of a rock as rocks only play nut cards so if you raise everybody folds. be careful when playing these cards as you can get into trouble chasing things if someone raises best let them have it if its not to much.

Don't play unless it's cheap

Any pair, 4's and under
Connected suited cards, not shown above (ie. 4-5 suited)
A10, K10, Q10
K9, Q9, both suited

For these cards to be profitable they need serious help from the board if you can get to the flop with not putting any money in or just half blind( if you are SB). Then it can be worth seeing a flop. As these are draw hands or you may hit trips with your small pairs. On the button these are ok if no one has bet as they might fold if you raise 5 times BB if not you stand a chance of hitting but only do this if you can afford it i.e. one of the big boys on the table.

Trash Hands

Everything else is trash get rid even if you hit you will have a bad kicker

Dont forget what might be good pocket cards in a tight game goes down in value you when you are playing with fish who hold onto trash no matter how much you raise them work your opponent out before you work your bet out.

This play is based around  aggression not totally aggressive but moderately aggressive.
